What a hackathon actually is
It isn't what the word makes you think.
It isn't coding, it isn't overnight, and it isn't a competition. It's a session with a fixed end time where you describe a problem you actually have, and by the time it finishes there's a working tool that solves it, live on the internet, that you can use the next day.
Nobody writes any code. Most people who come have never built anything before.

The person running it
Matt Hughes
Twenty-five years helping organisations adopt technology without the overwhelm, first in enterprise IT and Microsoft 365, now in AI. A Microsoft Certified Trainer, and the founder of TubeFest and the Festival of AI. He has delivered training inside the NHS, BBC, Tesco, Adidas, Royal Bank of Scotland, Emerson, Natural Resources Wales and Next.
