Practical AI
Why this exists

We got tired of AI training that didn't change anything.

There is an enormous amount of AI training available right now, and a striking amount of it produces nothing. People sit through a good session, nod along, mean it, and four weeks later they're working exactly as they were before. The industry knows this. It rarely mentions it.

Practical AI started from a simple observation: the people who actually change how they work are the ones who built something. Not the ones who were shown something, or told about something. The ones whose own hands were on the keyboard when it worked.

So that's what we do. Every session we run, ninety minutes or a full day, ends with each person owning something real that they made. It isn't a teaching technique. It's the entire point.

Matt Hughes
Who runs it

Matt Hughes

Matt has spent twenty-five years helping organisations adopt technology without the overwhelm, first in enterprise IT and Microsoft 365, now in AI. He's a Microsoft Certified Trainer, the founder of TubeFest and the Festival of AI, and he's delivered training inside the NHS, BBC, Tesco, Adidas, Royal Bank of Scotland, Emerson, Natural Resources Wales and Next.

He runs every session personally. You are not being sold by one person and delivered to by another.

How we work

Four things you can hold us to.

We tell you what won't work

Including when the honest answer is that you don't need us yet.

We don't oversell AI

Every demo we run ends with the limitations, not the applause.

You own everything

The builds, the accounts, the code. No lock-in, nothing you'd need us for afterwards.

One person delivers

Matt runs the sessions. You always know who's turning up.
